Roy Gene Autry graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1970. After an initial career in "hands on" science and engineering, he became more involved in managing complex projects and programs. He has almost 20 years experience in this area, both in industry and in Government. For the past 10 years he has assumed full management responsibility for a number of programs requiring technical and management competence as well as proposal preparation, planning, resource tracking and reporting capabilities. He has given seminars to scientists, engineers, lawyers and other professionals on management for people without formal management training. He also has written The Manager's Mindset, a book soon to be published and directed toward people with non-management backgrounds who are placed in management positions. Roy passed away in March of 2003. Jeanne P. Batterson has more than 20 years experience in non-profit management, with a concentration in fund development. She participated in the creation of the New York Regional Association of Grantmakers. Ms. Batterson helped lead the American Academy in Rome's $25 million fund raising effort in commemoration of its Centennial. She has served as Director of Development of the Hudson Riverkeeper Fund, working with Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. to secure funding for the environmental coalition that helped shape the historic New York State Watershed settlement. Ms. Batterson presently serves as Director of Development for the Dutchess County chapter of NYSARC, serving individuals with developmental and other disabilities.

Teacher, Exceptional Education, Yancey County Schools, 1977-2003 Awards: Teacher of the Year, 1972, 2000; Governor's Award for Excellence in Education, Entrepreneurial School Award; State of NC Dropout Prevention Award. Thom Koch comes from a background of noted professional educators, and has served in some form of education throughout his life. He has taught in Dade County (Miami) schools, Yancey County, NC schools, and at both Mars Hill College, Miami Adult Education centers, and Mayland Community College. A Russian Linguist in the US Army, he has taught Russian Language and culture, Elementary school English as a Second Language, Middle school English, and Learning Disabilities classes. At Mountain Heritage High School, he taught all areas and levels of exceptionality. In 1991 he developed a new alternative learning program for drop-outs and would-be drop-outs. He is a widower with two grown sons, four grandchildren and animals to include 4 dogs, 2 cats, and a pot-bellied pig, all of whom live with him on a mountain near Burnsville, North Carolina.
